Mutiple effect evaporator is developed from the most primitive evaporation tank to single effect,double effect,triple efect,
quadruple effect or more effect,the purpose of which is to gradually reduce energy consumption.
The principle of mutiple effect evaporator is to utilize the secondary vapor generated by the previous effect to heat the next effect to achieve the goal of energy saving.
Part of secondary vapor can be recovered by mutiple effect evaporator ,and the more effect the more secondary vapor can be recovered ,this is different from MVR evaporator to
recover all secondary vapor.
Generally speaking, 1.1 tons steam or 1.2 tons steam will be consumed to evaporate 1 ton water with a single effect evaporator,0.6 ton steam or 0.7 ton steam will be consumed to
evaporate 1 ton water with a double effect evaporator,0.37 ton steam or 0.46 ton steam will be consumed to evaporate 1 ton water with a triple effect evaporator,0.3 ton steam or 0.35
ton steam will be consumed to evaporate 1 ton water with a quadruple effect evaporator,0.24 ton steam or 0.3 ton steam will be consumed to evaporate 1 ton water with a quintuple effect evaporator.
When designing the mutiple effect evaporation system,we always take condensate recycling and secondary vapor heat into consideration to achieve the goal of energy saving.Automatic CIP aiming at
problem of heat exchanger scaling need to be considered when wastewater is treated.
There are many types of mutiple effect evaporators like forced circulation evaporator,natural circulation evaporator,falling film evaporator,rising film evaporator and plate evaporator ,etc.
In order to optimize process,combined type evaporator can be applied.
